Foundation development

The foundation is taking shape, and the first work is already under way.

I am working toward a Nevada nonprofit that can provide reliable educational information and help people locate appropriate services. The legal formation and survivor-safety planning are still in progress. Organizations interested in contributing expertise or reviewing the public materials can learn about the proposed work here.

For prospective supporters

How organizations can help at this stage

Organizations experienced in supporting survivors may be able to review the descriptions of their own services or contribute professional knowledge to public educational materials. Being involved would not give an organization access to survivor information or influence the independent investigations.

Educational work

Develop accessible materials

The guides need careful editing and accessibility review before public release. Translation may become possible when qualified contributors are available. Readers should be able to use the materials without identifying themselves.

Provider relationships

Improve resource access

Once a dedicated organizational contact channel exists, providers will be able to verify the descriptions of their own services. Inclusion in the directory does not mean that an organization has endorsed the proposed foundation.

Formation and readiness

Prepare a durable organization

The articles, bylaws and financial safeguards are being prepared for Nevada incorporation. A public donation campaign will be considered only when the applicable charitable-solicitation requirements have been addressed.

Funding status

About donations at this stage

The foundation is not yet incorporated or federally tax-exempt. There is no donation form on this preview, and no fiscal sponsor has been appointed. The budget describes anticipated costs rather than money already received.

The independent reporting project currently has its own support arrangements. Future foundation funds and program records would be maintained separately under the financial and conflict controls adopted at formation.

The reporting continues

The independent reporting will continue.

Readers who want to support independent investigative journalism can use the existing reporting site. Its financing is separate from the proposed charitable foundation. An interview or publication request will never be presented as a condition for accessing educational material.
